UApresents is committed to education and outreach
Introducing school children to live performing arts creates a lasting result, the beginning of a life-long adventure with the arts that helps them understand the world around them. UApresents 2009-2010 education programs reflect the realities of a difficult economy. Access to Centennial Hall, home to our highly successful School Matinee Program, is now restricted during the weekday matinee hours as the University has acquired the space for use as a classroom and lecture hall. Budget cuts in the school districts have reduced the availability of arts education and even transportation to arts events. Youth education is a key component of our mission to educate, enlighten and inspire through the performing arts, and this season we will present two excellent school matinees at Centennial Hall while also building new avenues to bring the arts to the schools (read more). Continuation of these programs, however, is very dependent upon donations and grants from private foundations, corporations and individuals. We hope you will contribute and support these programs.
